Varian set out to expand access to radiotherapy in underserved markets—requiring a system that was faster to install, easier to use, more affordable to produce, and culturally attuned, while maintaining Western clinical credibility.

Over two years, I led design and engineering from early research through DFM, delivering a compact, iconic system that streamlined workflows, simplified installation and servicing, and redefined patient-centered care—bringing high-quality radiotherapy to places it hadn’t been before.

MY ROLE

As Senior Creative Lead, I guided design strategy and execution from concept to OEM hand-off for Varian’s next-gen radiotherapy system.

  • Directed design vision and advised executives—leading hardware and UX teams to deliver a game-changing system for emerging markets

  • Aligned clinical requirements, product goals, and engineering constraints across global stakeholder teams

  • Streamlined physical and digital workflows through field research, prototyping and usability testing to ensure simplicity, repeatability, and high throughput

  • Maintained design integrity from DFM through production, enabling deployment in both high-resource and constrained clinical settings
